On Saturday, December 6th, Downtown Las Vegas was swarmed with over 6,000 Santas for the Third Annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run. Although it looks like a jolly St. Nick convention, it is one of the city’s most memorable charity fundraiser events. The Las Vegas Great Santa Run event benefits Opportunity Village, a self-funded private
not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities by providing them with vocational training.
Some of the Jaynes Las Vegas Staff participated in this year’s Las Vegas Great Santa Run. They donned their plush red suits, matching hats, and white beards, and joined the thousands of Santas running and walking to raise money for this great cause. Proceeds from this event will benefit the men and women with disabilities to enhance their daily lives and their families.
Opportunity Village was founded in 1954 by seven families who wanted the best for their young children with intellectual disabilities. Since that time, they have grown to become Nevada’s largest provider of vocational, employment advocacy and social programs for people with disabilities. The programs they provide save Nevada taxpayers over $10 million annually. They offer people the ability to achieve their dreams of independence and employment.
