Jaynes Receives American Concrete Institute’s Highest Award
November 13 2007 - Jaynes Corporation receives the American Concrete Institutes Highest Award.
Saturday, November 10th 2007, Jaynes Corporation was awarded the New Mexico Chapter of the American Concrete Institutes highest award. Excellence in Concrete was presented to Jaynes' Senior Superintendent Darrel Massegee and Concrete Superintendent Keith Welch. This award recognizes Jaynes for superior quality and craftsmanship in concrete. The project was George Pearl Hall for the University of New Mexico. This new facility houses the University's School of Architecture and Planning & Fine Arts Library.
This remarkable new 108,000 square foot structure was designed by Antone Predock. With a 22 month construction schedule this project was completed a month early. The building has almost 1,000,000 pounds of reinforcing steel, more than 14,000 cubic yards of concrete, cantilevered walls, 28,000 square feet of glazing and truss' that weigh 90,000 pounds each.
The University of New Mexico has said publicly on many occasions how pleased they are with the professional staff and the superior quality of this facility. University Regents have also publicly praised this facility as "remarkable" and a "testament to what can be achieved with a top quality team."
