The new 137,000 square foot facility will have multiple single-story buildings which offer a non-institutional, residential scale “village style” environment for healthcare. The perimeter patient residence buildings are closely arranged and connected by enclosed walkways.

They circle the “town square” building which has activity areas consisting of a resident dining hall, fitness center, arts/crafts center, library, chapel, medical clinic, boutique, post office and hair-styling shop. It will have 233 patient beds consisting of 81 skilled nursing beds, 92 intermediate care beds, 40 Veterans Administration patient beds and 20 chemical dependency beds.

Bordering the central building, are themed healing garden plazas that compliment and support the activity areas. The garden plazas range from an activities-fitness plaza to a quiet, meditative plaza outside of the library and chapel.

The facility will feature southwestern architecture to compliment and match its surroundings. It will emulate the historical past of Fort Bayard and New Mexico with Territorial Style exterior stucco and colors influenced by nature.

The 59 apartments along with 3 laundries, one recreation building and one administration building were gutted and completely renovated. The 50 year old senior living complex operated by the Las Vegas Housing Authority was brought up to current living standards. The living units received the most attention, when the demolition was over all that remained were the concrete slabs, CMU walls and roofs. The finished project has brought pride back to the residence.

The project also includes limited associated site work supporting and surrounding these buildings. The buildings are wood framed and masonry block. Clubhouse features include: a pro shop, banquet facilities, a dining room that seats 300, a full-service kitchen, a full maintenance facility, and 250 parking spaces.

Designed to blend well with the surroundings, this 1-story, wood framed structure was constructed using Green Building Technology and recycled materials. The exterior walls have a textured plaster finish, detailed with multi-colored ceramic tile. The rooflines are of various heights and feature old world clay barrel tile with a multi-colored custom blend. The main lobby provides access to the two areas of the library. Three large courtyards surrounded by native landscaping have also been incorporated in each main area.

In keeping with the community’s request, the design is based on the Mission-Revival and turn-of-the-century Craftsman style. Green Building Technology dictated that windows be plentiful throughout the building, providing natural lighting and ventilation.

A 40,000 SF, 3-story, wood framed structure, this 42-unit project is a mixed-use, planned residential development for senior apartments with parking areas and landscaping. Amenities include 2,500 SF of retail space, a 1,000 SF community room, lounge area, library and an on-site office.

A 48,000 SF split-level gymnasium located on a sloped and constricted site. The structure consists of a caisson/pile cap foundation, 3-story structural steel frame with concrete block and metal stud exterior and interior walls. The basement level consists of 2 levels of masonry block construction. The scope of work also included extensive site work.

This Physical Education Facility houses regulation NCAA basketball courts with wood flooring, telescoping bleachers, a fitness and exercise center, team locker rooms, official’s offices and a concession stand.

A 22,000 square foot facility designed to provide the area with a fully accessible public clinic. The construction includes fourteen exam rooms as well as ancillary and support spaces made up of practitioners’ offices, restroom facilities, nursing stations, waiting areas, a reception area, records areas, storage and a lab. To ensure functionality, the front door is accessible from the sidewalk and the building is located near bus stops.

The clinic will meet the expanding needs of the community with primary and preventive health care services, public health nursing, communicable disease control and maternal, child and adolescent health services.

This new facility, located at the south end of Santee Lakes Regional Park, allows the District to consolidate its staff at one location.  The building houses Padre Dam’s customer service center along with its engineering and administrative offices, next to the existing operations facilities. 

The 2-story steel-framed building includes an exterior skin of stone, glass, and stucco.  The design emphasizes the District’s continuing commitment to resource conservation through the use of solar shading devices for the windows, energy-saving mechanical and electrical systems, construction materials with a high recycled content, and drought tolerant planting.

The new 49,291 SF facility was one of the first approved for funding under the State Library bond act. The northern half of the site has been dedicated to building, while the southern portion will provide 95 public and staff parking spaces.

The library is a 2-Story, steel framed structure. Architectural features include an elliptical-shaped 2-Story reading room, grand interior circular staircase, separate adult & children collection areas, three computer labs, local history room and a large public meeting room. The exterior facades are composed of stone veneer, zinc metal panels, and glass curtain wall. Administrative and staff spaces are located on the second floor.

Murrieta Town Square is a civic space that includes Murrieta City Hall and Murrieta Public Library. The City Hall is a new 33,678 SF 2-story building with 120 seat City Council chamber, more than 100 offices and an expansive lobby.

Site work included wet and dry utilities, grading, site drainage systems, erosion control, foundation systems, site walkways & hardscape improvements, site landscaping, and emergency power generator systems.

The Miramar Science and Technology Building is a 42,000 SF, 2-Story, steel framed building located at the center of the Miramar College Campus. The new building adds twelve new classrooms and eight new science laboratories to the existing Art & Science Department. Clean rooms, cadaver rooms, office areas, chemical storage areas and two new lecture halls were also part of this project.

The Advanced Transportation Building encompasses 12,000 SF and is a wood-framed transportation building, that includes an auto shop, classrooms and offices.

This two-story church building is a concrete and steel framed structure designed with a standing seam roof and 30-foot high steeples.

The exterior has an elaborate plaster finish that incorporates decorative foam shapes that creates an intricate design. The interior is comprised of a ceramic tile baptistery pool, marble flooring, and crown molding on interior ceilings.

The Environmental Monitoring & Technical Services Laboratory is a 2-Story, steel framed building atop driven pile foundation. Designed with a compound curved roof, glass curtain wall and aluminum composite exterior wall panels, the facility specializes in environmental research. The project included administrative offices, site and street improvements and ocean monitoring labs.

Additional work included a new off-site roadway with all new power distribution; gas, sewer, water, and storm drain lines. The project included pure water, gas and vacuum systems, environmental rooms, fume hoods, and sterilizing equipment. Construction on this 7.5 acre site required extensive de-watering efforts.

This facility encompasses two buildings totaling 43,600 SF. The Operations Building is a 2-Story, 31,000 SF structure that includes a laboratory, an office/administration area, a conference room and an employee shower/locker room facility.

The Maintenance Building is a 1-story, 12,600 SF building designed to accommodate a shop, an office/administration area and a computer server room. Additionally, the project included a completely new site development to the entire 3-acre parcel.

Located in the Del Mar Fairgrounds, this multi-purpose livestock facility consists of two pre-engineered metal buildings with a plaster exterior totaling 81,528 SF.

Jaynes tore down three old barns which were consequently replaced with a new multi-purpose building and livestock facility. Designed by the California Construction Authority, the 40,700 SF multipurpose facility is used as a barn and a trade show venue and includes a concession area and offices. The 40,820 SF livestock facility is used for livestock, horses and community events and includes offices and restrooms. The new facilities are located next to the fairgrounds’ grandstand area.

Canyon Crossings is part of a 90-acre mixed-use, freeway-oriented development in the City of Riverside with more than 740,000 SF of power retail anchored by a new Wal-Mart Supercenter, a John’s Incredible Pizza, Staples, LA Fitness, Wickes Furniture and EasyLife Furniture, plus a mixture of other major retailers, specialty shops and lifestyle venues.

Jaynes’ scope of work encompassed approximately 260,000 SF of retail construction as well as site work including wet and dry utilities, grading, site drainage systems, erosion control, foundation systems, site walkways & hardscape improvements, and site landscaping & irrigation.

The Barstow Paint & Undercoat Facility is a 34,000 square foot Design-Build pre-engineered metal building with state of the art air pollution control system and ten spray booths, large enough to accommodate M1A1 tanks.

The building houses all of the industrial operations involving the use of paints and undercoating compounds for the Navy Base. The project includes the design, engineering and construction of a complete and usable industrial facility including site clearing and grading.

In order to comply with California’s environmental laws, the facility uses a regenerative thermal oxidation system, which removes harmful pollutants before they have chance to be released into the atmosphere. The state-of-the-art system doubles as an energy saving device as well.

160,000 SF specialty retail center including 13 wood framed buildings and 3 masonry with wood roof framing buildings. Site work included all utilities, parking and water features.

This project offers the first upscale specialty retail center to the city of Chula Vista. Tenants include gourmet markets, upscale restaurants, and specialty shops. Additionally, the project has an estate-like theme, carried out in the pedestrian spaces in the form of water features, sculptures, and rose gardens. Emphasis was placed on creating a strong connection between buildings and public amenities.

This project is located in the heart of Eastlake's master planned community, which has been voted San Diego's best new home community by the San Diego Union Tribune's reader poll every year since 1997.

The Educational Cultural Complex expansion, known as the Skills Center, was designed with strong community involvement in 1972. Reflecting the original design and with respect to the neighborhood, the addition continues the current park-like feel of the existing structure and site, breathing new life into an area of town that has experienced few opportunities for growth.

The project consists of the construction of three 1-story buildings totaling 67,000 SF: three auto repair canopies and adjacent hardscaping. The three canopies will house state-of-the-art auto body and automobile repair program, as well as the graphics, appliance repair, electronic assembly, office skills, and computer network cabling programs.

The 67,000 SF project consists of the build-out of three stories of an existing, fully operational, 5-story hospital. Construction is being executed next to a critical care unit requiring constant coordination and communication between hospital staff and the construction team.
Jaynes’ scope of work includes completion of the second and third floors of the hospital’s emergency and critical-care center, upgraded cardiac care, and upgrades to the 50-year-old hospital’s electrical and plumbing system. Upon completion, Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s 481 bed count will be increased by 99 beds.

Global Structures served as the primary general contractor on this diverse travel center project. The building structure itself consists of 7,000 square feet and includes a convenience store, Arby’s fast-food restaurant, US postal station, Java City coffee shop, smoke shop and jewelry counter. The interior design of the store includes unusual architectural details such as a barrel ceiling and stone fireplace. This fast-track project also included development of the site to accommodate twelve fueling stations, a separate biofuel filling station with four dispensers, and a separate diesel fueling system for tractor trailers.

This project consisted of adding 12 new classrooms & 6 new bathrooms. Preschool and Kindergarten classes have Jack & Jill restrooms and have curved soffits that match curved concrete bancos in the reading rooms along with glass block randomly placed on the wall to divide the classrooms.

The offices are equipped with one way mirrors and all of the HVAC ductwork is encased in concrete under the slab. The stucco exterior in pastel colors and galvanized standing seam metal roof ties into the existing buildings to make the addition look like it was part of the original building.
