UCSD Robert Paine Scripps Center, a 19,000 SF complex located just south of Scripps Pier in La Jolla. The project consists of construction of a main steel framed multipurpose building with a balcony and a second floor food service area and 3 single story steel-framed buildings for meeting rooms, lounge and service. The buildings are primarily clad in horizontal wood siding.

This new conference center will be situated behind the beach and just above a small bluff, approximately 30 feet above sea level. Design features include a sunken auditorium that will house 275 people and be the centerpiece for the project; a rooftop terrace and restaurant with views of the ocean; use of trellises to connect the buildings and preserve the view of the ocean between them. The project is being built for Scripps Institution of Oceanography – University of California San Diego.
