Albuquerque, NM
72 unit residential efficiency apartments
WINNER OF THE 2010 NAIOP NEW MEXICO AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR A RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
This 39,000 square foot property integrates a diverse population of persons with disabilities, retirees, and low wage workers as well as market rate tenants in a mixed income, mixed use and sustainable “green” environment. Some of the highlights of this facility are: 72 residential efficiency apartments, 7 offices, a conference room, multi-purpose room, reception area, lobby and a café. The Supportive Housing Coalition occupies offices on the first floor.
This building is a sustainable project and exceeds mandatory criteria for green design under the Enterprise Green Communities Program. Special systems included in this project are a greywater system, which takes water from vanities and showers, runs it through a filtration system, and recycles it for use in the toilets. There is a solar system consisting of 88 rooftop panels that heat water and provide forced air heating for the building as well as a rain water harvest system including two 2900 gallon cisterns to collect rain water that will then be used for landscaping.
