New visitor center and rest area.

Global Structures was the primary general contractor of this new visitor center and rest area. The new Hacienda-style facility features a spacious lobby staffed by the Tourism Department, gift shops and information kiosks that highlight many historical and cultural aspects of New Mexico. The new facility includes 10,780 heated square feet of space. The rest area uses wind turbine power and includes a wastewater treatment plant to generate water for irrigation. Some other features of this rest area include wireless internet access and telephone service, a corral for livestock, native landscaping, a paved walking path, and a fenced pet area, as well as 94 car parking spaces and 53 truck spaces for large commercial trucks.
