V. Sue Cleveland High School

Construction has been completed on the newest high school in northern Rio Rancho, NM.
WINNER OF THE 2010 NAIOP NEW MEXICO AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE AWARD OF MERIT FOR AN EDUCATIONAL/HIGH SCHOOL, 2010 ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS NEW MEXICO BEST BUILDING AWARD FOR A CMAR PROJECT, AND ENR SOUTHWEST BEST OF 2011 AWARD FOR BEST CULTURAL/WORSHIP PROJECT FOR THE FINE ARTS CENTER AND ORCHESTRA HALL
This school consists of six learning academies on a campus that is over one square mile in size. The learning academies and the library, student center, lecture hall, specialty resource studio labs, core administration, food service, athletics/physical fitness, and center for performing arts are all linked through a secure outdoor "Main Street Plaza." More than $8 million was invested in state-of-the-art technology.
This school was designed under LEED Gold Certification principles and has sustainable elements that include ground-source heat pumps, extensive natural lighting, low maintenance materials, and heat-reflecting roof materials.
