Water is the common denominator of need for all people. The lack of accessible, potable water impacts the health and economic structure of every society. Village Aid is a volunteer group comprised of Fort Lewis College faculty, students and community partners who work together to design, engineer, and install appropriate technological solutions to water and sanitation problems in underdeveloped nations.
Village Aid works with each community for five years to help them develop a water system that works for their needs. The community members make decisions, provide the labor and manage the system over time. Jaynes donated funds to Village Aid in support of their efforts to build the capacity within a community to understand, finance, implement, manage, maintain and utilize the water system over the long-term, and provide engineering, technical and financial assistance to the community.
