Jaynes Kicks Off 100 Days of Summer
Jaynes’ annual 100 Days of Summer event kicked off this month with a whirlwind tour of 19 prominent project sites across New Mexico by the leadership team of CEO Shad James; Chief Risk Officer Matt Sanchez; Greg Krause, Executive Vice President of Operations; Corporate Safety Director Travis Massegee; Sam Hatchell, Director of Quality and Leadership; Director of Concrete Operations Zach Johnson; Woody Harwell, Safety and Claims Manager; and Sam Burns, General Superintendent. Superintendents and Project Managers stopped all work at each project site for the leadership team to discuss Safety, Quality, and Production.

The foundational messages of 100 Days of Summer this year are:
- Safety Brings You Home.
- Quality Brings You Customers.
- Production Brings You Prosperity.
The goal of the visits—and of 100 Days of Summer—is to reinforce our cornerstone corporate values: safety, because we all want every team member to return home safely at the end of the day; quality, because excellence is our standard; and production, because efficiency drives our success, earns our Owners’ trust, and the attention of potential new Owners.
100 Days of Summer reflects Jaynes’ culture as a 100% employee-owned, transparent, values-driven, and people-focused company.
Safety Is More Than Compliance
A part of each visit is a dialogue and Q&A about safety. Nothing is more important than ensuring every team member goes home safely at the end of the day. A core value at Jaynes is that safety brings you home.
Quality Is A Shared Responsibility
Jaynes is known for delivering quality work, and that doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when field teams, supervisors, and leadership align on new employee onboarding, training and education, mentorship, and effective safety and quality policies and procedures.
Efficient Production Requires Intention and Alignment
Efficient project delivery requires alignment, communication, and trust to keep jobs on track. It requires more than productivity. Through this tour, leaders identify ways to remove friction and streamline workflows across every site.
100 Days of Summer is a way for Jaynes to sharpen our focus on Safety, Quality, and Production and highlight the hard work and commitment of our teams that help build communities with care and excellence.
