Our On-Site Health Clinic
Building a strong foundation for well-being.
Safety has always been a core value at Jaynes. We’re committed to making sure every worker can go home to their family at the end of the day, and we don’t cut corners or put people at risk in the pursuit of profit – ever.
For years, Jaynes sought a way to help our employees not just survive, but thrive. And in 2015, we found a way forward that would end up becoming a cornerstone of our workplace.
On-Site Healthcare for the Whole Family
In the beginning, the Jaynes health clinic was managed through an insurance provider. Later, we moved to subsidize it ourselves. It is now independently owned and operated by a nurse practitioner. We still offer full health insurance benefits to all eligible employees in addition to our clinic on-site at our Albuquerque campus.
The clinic manages all kinds of general family medicine an employee might need, such as:
- Basic primary care
- Chronic disease management
- Lab work
- Physical exams
- Prescriptions and refills
- Vaccinations
- Diagnosis and treatment of common ailments
- Specialist referrals for other conditions
The clinic doesn’t handle workmen’s compensation claims, but it can render basic first aid and an evaluation and referral if necessary in the event of minor injuries. Once an employee is in the system, they can call by phone or use a telehealth service to get care anywhere, even a job site out of town.
The clinic exclusively serves Jaynes employees and their families, and all medical information is kept strictly confidential between the patient and their medical provider – not stored in any Jaynes database, and not shared with anyone at the company.
Promoting Wellness in the Community
In addition to providing general family medicine to Jaynes employees and their families, our health clinic prioritizes wellness both within our company and the communities we call home. There’s a big focus on preventative medicine and education on health topics of particular interest to construction workers, from the importance of stretching to prevent muscle strain, to the dangers of sitting too long at the office.
There are regular annual flu clinics and vaccines, tobacco cessation programs, mental health support services and other programs designed to promote wellness. The healthcare clinic also works hand-in-hand with the Jaynes Wellness Committee to support other perks such as free onsite weekly yoga classes and participation in outreach events like charity 5K runs that encourage people to be active and get out in the community for a good cause.
Why It Matters
Our people are our greatest asset. They are the ones who construct the buildings that shape communities and leave a lasting impact. We want people who stay for the long haul and contribute to the Jaynes legacy, and we know the way to do that is to invest in them as people, not just workers.
Our on-site health clinic is not just a place for medical attention, but a testament to our commitment to the well-being of our employees and their families. By investing in their health and happiness, we are investing in a future where everyone can thrive. Because at Jaynes, we believe that true strength is not just measured in bricks and steel, but in the lives we touch and the legacies we build together.
