Built Here, Invested Here: Celebrating 50 Years in the Four Corners
In 1976, Jaynes Corporation established a permanent presence in the Four Corners region. Fifty years later, our team is celebrating a milestone made possible by the people and communities that have shaped our work.
Jaynes’ Four Corners Division has grown alongside the region. From classrooms and athletic facilities to housing and community spaces, the buildings have changed, but the purpose behind them has remained steady: to create places where people can learn, work, gather, and thrive.
That commitment is reflected in the relationships our team has built with school districts, public agencies, architects, trade partners, and community leaders. For Jaynes, construction has never been only about completing a building. It is about understanding what that building represents to the people who will use it and delivering it with quality, accountability, and transparency.

Education has been an especially important part of our Four Corners story. Our teams in both the Durango, CO and Aztec, NM offices have helped create and improve learning environments throughout the region, including recent work with Farmington Municipal Schools. The new Farmington Preschool Academy illustrates what can happen when an owner, architect, and contractor begin collaborating early. Working alongside the district and FBT Architects, Jaynes delivered a 51,900-square-foot campus designed to serve more than 500 preschool-aged children.

This project also represents the approach that’s sustained the Four Corners Division for five decades. The team listened to school administrators, communicated with neighbors, engaged students during construction, and remained focused on creating a predictable experience for the owner and community. The academy was completed three months ahead of schedule and under budget, allowing significant contingency funds to be returned to the State of New Mexico.
Results like these belong to more than one company. They are created by craftspeople who take pride in their work, trade partners who solve challenges together, clients who place their trust in the project team, and community members who support the process.
So this anniversary is really more than simply how long Jaynes has maintained a Four Corners office. It’s about 50 years of local relationships, regional knowledge, shared investment, and community building. This anniversary celebrates local Jaynes employees, clients who trusted Jaynes to participate in significant investments, and the partners who helped turn plans into lasting community assets.
The stories we created (and continue to create) and the friendships we have forged along the way are what we treasure most. It’s a joy and a privilege to be a part of this community and the legacy of Jaynes in the Four Corners.
As Jaynes celebrates these stories, we are also looking ahead. The next chapter will continue to be shaped by the same principles that brought us here: building strong relationships, honoring our commitments, supporting our neighbors, and creating opportunities for the people who call the Four Corners home.
