CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center Earns ENR Southwest Best Project Award
Jaynes Corporation is proud to announce that the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center in Santa Fe has received an Award of Merit in the Healthcare category in the 2026 ENR Southwest Best Projects competition.
Presented annually by Engineering News-Record (ENR), the Best Projects Awards recognize the Southwest’s most outstanding construction achievements. This year, hundreds of projects were evaluated by ENR’s independent panel of architects, owners, contractors, and industry leaders, making the recognition one of the region’s most respected honors.
The ENR award is the latest recognition for the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center, which earlier this year also earned the AGC New Mexico Best Buildings Grand Prize.
Together, the awards reflect not only construction excellence, but also the collaboration and commitment required to deliver a facility that will serve New Mexico patients for decades to come.
Receiving both the state’s highest construction honor and recognition from ENR underscores the project’s impact beyond New Mexico.
Realizing The Owner’s Vision
From its inception, the project was about far more than constructing a new healthcare building. CHRISTUS St. Vincent envisioned a regional destination where patients could receive comprehensive cancer treatment closer to home, reducing travel, improving care coordination, and creating a healing environment centered on the patient experience.
Working alongside CHRISTUS St. Vincent Health System and the design team, Jaynes helped bring that vision to life. The Regional Cancer Center brings together medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion therapy, advanced imaging, and patient support services under one roof, creating a seamless experience for patients and caregivers.
Healthcare construction demands exceptional planning, technical expertise, and close collaboration among owners, designers, trade partners, and builders. Every decision, from coordinating sophisticated medical systems to maintaining the highest standards of quality, contributes to a facility that caregivers can rely on and patients can trust.
“Our sincere thanks go to CHRISTUS St. Vincent for trusting Jaynes with such an important investment in the community,” said Jaynes CEO Shad James. “This recognition belongs to every organization and every individual who contributed to the project’s success, including our architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and the dedicated professionals who worked together to deliver an exceptional facility for New Mexico.”

Jaynes Healthcare Expertise
Delivering a regional cancer center required more than constructing a sophisticated healthcare facility. It demanded careful coordination of complex building systems and an unwavering commitment to maintaining quality while creating an environment where patients and caregivers would feel supported from the moment they entered the building.
ENR Best Project judges evaluate on more than construction execution. They recognize teams that demonstrate innovation, overcome complex challenges, maintain outstanding safety performance, and deliver meaningful value to owners and the communities they serve.
The CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center embodies those qualities. Today, it stands as more than an award-winning building. It represents expanded access to advanced cancer care, a lasting investment in the health of Northern New Mexico, and the power of collaboration to improve lives.
Jaynes congratulates CHRISTUS St. Vincent and every project partner on this outstanding recognition. We look forward to celebrating with the region’s top project teams at the ENR Southwest Best Projects Awards event this November.
