Bloomfield Fire Station

The Bloomfield Fire Station features administration offices, a library, conference room, kitchen, and day room with outside patio. The new building also has a lobby large enough to house one of the vintage fire trucks the Fire Chief has been collecting for years. The 2nd floor includes sleeping quarters, laundry, and the exercise/recreation room. The station is one of the few in the area to install the old fashioned ‘‘fire pole’’. The renovated area included new full glass garage doors, a new training room, apparatus bay, SCBA and decontamination/laundry room. The exterior of the building is a weathered metal skin – we installed 3/16’’ thick metal plates, sand blasted them, then applied chemicals to speed up the oxidation process since there is virtually no humidity in the area. The sleeping quarters face south and the steel sun-shade system works perfectly keeping the afternoon sun out of the rooms.
