Bloomfield Municipal Court
The new City of Bloomfield Police Headquarters, Municipal Court, and Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) is a 3-story, 18,571 SF building. It consists of concrete tilt-up panels and metal panels on a structural steel frame with masonry stucco finished walls. A solution was sprayed onto the metal panels to activate the rusting process. The buildings first floor houses the Municipal Court and MVD, holding cells, evidence & property storage areas, locker rooms and administrative offices. The Police Headquarters occupies second and third floors as well as a portion of the first floor, complete with detective offices and briefing rooms. The Police Chief, Lieutenant, training and conference rooms occupy the third floor. Bullet resistant panels, frames and glazing have been installed throughout the building. A 2,065 SF shooting range was added to the north end of the building that consists of CMU block walls with a stucco finish.
