Carlsbad High School Performing Arts Theater
Carlsbad High School Performing Arts Theater, Carlsbad, New Mexico
Jaynes Corporation, a part of the Carlsbad New Mexico community for over 25 years, partnered with Carlsbad Municipal Schools and NPSR Architects to deliver a state-of-the-art performing arts theater designed to showcase student talent and serve as a cultural hub for the community. This project included 79,000 square feet of new construction.
Important project elements were construction of a modern, acoustically engineered performance space with seating for approximately 1,200 guests, professional-grade lighting and sound systems, an expansive stage, and dedicated backstage areas for set building, storage, and performer preparation.
The Jaynes team worked closely with the design partners and Carlsbad High School administrators to ensure the facility would meet the needs of both high school productions and the Carlsbad community as well. Special attention was given to acoustics, audience sightlines, and integrated technology, creating a professional-grade venue that rivals many larger collegiate and municipal theaters.
The project was delivered on schedule, within budget, and with the quality craftsmanship that defines Jaynes Corporation’s work. Today, the Carlsbad High School Performing Arts Theater stands as a source of pride for students, faculty, and the wider community, providing a platform where arts education and community engagement thrive side by side.
The Jaynes BIM team contributed to completing the state-of-the-art theater with MEP and structural modeling and coordination, assisting in the verification of steel embeds and by providing laser scanning services prior to cement being poured to accurately verify and document rebar and openings locations. Jaynes Structures Concrete was responsible for all cast-in-place concrete as well as tilt-up concrete panels.
