HME Specialists Office Building

This project consisted of a new two-story CMU and structural steel office and warehouse building.  The building sits on a three-acre site, has 15,000 SF of office space with another 20,000 SF of warehouse space constructed primarily of CMU. The building footprint was located in a designated flood zone.  Prior to work starting, the project team coordinated with the owner, architect and other entities to re-zone the property.

Due to the zoning delays, the fast-track project did not start masonry until December. Because of the cold weather, masonry had to be scheduled during the warmest parts of the day.  The project team adjusted their schedules and worked nights and weekends to accommodate element issues.

Special permitting was required for the foundation, building, site walls, loading docks, and signs.  Because our team had ample experience working with the City of Albuquerque, the permits did not delay the fast track schedule and the team was able to finish on-time.
