Building More Than Structures: Jaynes Supports Eddy County CASA’s Project Playhouse

At Jaynes, construction has always been about more than buildings. It’s about creating places where people can build better futures. Better communities. That philosophy extends beyond our job sites and into the communities we serve.

This year, Jaynes was proud to support Eddy County CASA’s Project Playhouse. This fundraising initiative combines craftsmanship and community spirit to benefit some of the most vulnerable children in New Mexico.

Project Playhouse is an annual fundraising event organized by Eddy County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

The mission of CASA is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system through the recruitment, training, and support of effective volunteer advocates.

The fundraising Project Playhouse brings together local builders, suppliers, designers, and community partners to create custom-built playhouses that are raffled to the public. Proceeds from the raffle help CASA support a volunteer network that advocates for abused and neglected children navigating the foster care and court systems in Eddy County.

For Jaynes, participating in Project Playhouse was a natural fit.

Andrew Sisneros, Jaynes’ Millwork Division Manager and leader of the team that crafted the Jaynes Camper Trailer Playhouse, mentions, “As builders, we spend our careers creating spaces that serve people, but projects like Project Playhouse remind us that some of the most meaningful work we do happens outside of our commercial projects. Our team was honored to contribute our craftsmanship to a cause that supports children who need stability, advocacy, and hope. Knowing that our efforts help Eddy County CASA make a difference in the lives of local children makes this project especially rewarding.”

The Jaynes Camper Trailer Playhouse. No adults allowed!

The Jaynes team of Millwork artisans who designed and created the Camper Trailer Playhouse included Clorindo Romer, Gustavo Cortez, Joshua Mioduszeski, Mary Aguinada, Rocky Candelaria, and Devin Brooks. This team enthusiastically donated their time and expertise.

Construction companies are in the business of building environments where people feel safe, supported, and valued. CASA’s mission aligns closely with those values. Every day, CASA volunteers provide stability and advocacy for children facing uncertainty, helping ensure their voices are heard during critical moments in their lives. Research and advocacy efforts across the CASA network consistently demonstrate the importance of having a trusted adult advocate during a child’s journey through the foster care system.

A Community Built Around Children

One of the most inspiring aspects of Project Playhouse is its collaborative nature. Builders, suppliers, volunteers, and nonprofit leaders work together toward a common goal: improving outcomes for children in foster care.

The concept is simple yet powerful. Skilled construction professionals donate their time, talent, and resources to design and build imaginative playhouses that spark creativity and joy. Community members then purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of these custom creations. The resulting funds directly support CASA’s child advocacy programs throughout Eddy County.

What makes the event especially meaningful is the symbolism behind every playhouse. While each structure is designed to be fun and imaginative, it also represents something deeper: stability, security, and the belief that every child deserves a safe place to dream and grow. Eddy County CASA describes the playhouses as symbols of the nurturing environments every child deserves.

Bringing Jaynes’ Construction Expertise To A Worthy Cause

For the Jaynes team, Project Playhouse offered an opportunity to apply the same craftsmanship and teamwork that define our commercial construction projects to a community-focused initiative.

From planning and coordination to construction and delivery, the project required many of the same skills that Jaynes employees bring to complex commercial projects every day. The difference was that this project had a uniquely personal purpose: helping create brighter futures for children in our communities.

Jaynes employees understand that construction can have a lasting impact beyond the physical structures we build. Whether constructing schools, healthcare facilities, community centers, or infrastructure, the ultimate goal is improving the quality of life. Supporting Project Playhouse extends that mission beyond traditional construction projects and into direct community engagement.

The event also reflects a long-standing tradition within Jaynes of supporting charitable organizations and community initiatives throughout New Mexico. Over the years, Jaynes employees have donated countless hours to causes that strengthen local communities, support education, improve healthcare access, and create opportunities for future generations.

A Tradition of Building Playhouses For Good

Project Playhouse is not the first time Jaynes has used construction expertise to support a nonprofit through the creative construction of playhouses.

More than a decade ago, Jaynes partnered with architects, designers, and New Mexico Appleseed on Albuquerque’s “Parade of Playhouses,” a fundraising event that featured custom-built playhouses auctioned off to benefit underserved communities. Jaynes’ employees and family members volunteered their time to construct a unique playhouse that combined creativity, craftsmanship, and community involvement.

That experience demonstrated how construction professionals can leverage their talents in meaningful ways outside traditional project work. Participating in Eddy County CASA’s Project Playhouse continues that tradition, bringing together skilled builders and community advocates to support children and families in need.

The Lasting Impact Of CASA

While the playhouses attract attention, the true impact of Project Playhouse is found in the lives of the children served by CASA.

CASA volunteers are specially trained community members appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children experiencing abuse or neglect. These volunteers gather information, monitor progress, attend hearings, and help ensure that courts have a complete understanding of each child’s circumstances. Their work often provides consistency and support during periods of significant instability.

Funds raised through initiatives like Project Playhouse help sustain these advocacy efforts. Every raffle ticket purchased contributes to volunteer recruitment, training, and support, enabling CASA to serve more children throughout Eddy County.

For a child navigating the foster care system, the presence of a dedicated advocate can make a profound difference. By supporting CASA, community partners help ensure that more children have someone standing beside them during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Jaynes Helps Build Brighter Futures

At Jaynes, we believe that construction is ultimately about people. Buildings matter because of the lives they impact. Schools shape students. Hospitals care for families. Community facilities bring people together.

Project Playhouse reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful structures are the smallest ones.

A playhouse may be measured in square feet rather than acres, but its impact extends far beyond its walls. It represents creativity, hope, and a community willing to invest in its children.

We are honored to support Eddy County CASA and its mission to advocate for children throughout southeastern New Mexico. We are equally proud of the employees, volunteers, and community partners who helped make Project Playhouse a success.

Together, we are building more than playhouses.

We are helping build brighter futures for children who need them most.
