Jaynes In The Community: Six Major Education Projects Delivered in Summer 2025

When schools thrive, communities thrive. In the summer of 2025, Jaynes Corporation delivered six major educational projects in communities throughout New Mexico, completed and opened in time for the new school year.

Here’s a rundown on some of the educational projects Jaynes’ teams delivered this summer:

Carlsbad High School’s Performing Arts Center

This 1,000-seat performing arts venue provides Carlsbad students and the community with a state-of-the-art home for music, theater, and cultural programming, supporting creativity as much as academics.

The Jaynes team worked closely with Carlsbad High School administrators to ensure the facility would meet the needs of both high school productions and the Carlsbad community. Learn more about the Performing Arts Center by visiting the Jaynes Project Profile.

Jaynes has a long history of community building in Carlsbad, with the recent completion of the Carlsbad High School Field House being another prominent project delivery.

Eunice Public Schools’ Joe Langston Arena

A modern athletic arena built to honor the community legacy of Joe Langston, who guided Eunice High to four state basketball championships, the Joe Langston Arena — nicknamed the Taj Mahal —  drastically expands Eunice’s capacity to host events and cultivate school pride.

The Owner, Eunice Public School District, opened the 67,000 square foot arena on August 21st, 2025, with the first volleyball match of the season featuring the Varsity Lady Cardinals hosting rival Escalante High School Lady Lobos.

Jaynes Corporation delivered the project on time and on budget in August 2025 using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project delivery, partnering with Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects.

Los Alamos Public Schools’ Chamisa Elementary

The new Chamisa Elementary School reflects Owner Los Alamos Public Schools’ tradition of creating facilities that promote academic excellence. Chamisa Elementary was designed and built to serve generations of young learners with flexible, light-filled classrooms. Jaynes delivered the project using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method.

“We were very fortunate to work with both an outstanding architect and design team, Dekker, and the construction company, Jaynes Corporation,” Los Alamos Public Schools Superintendent Jennifer Guy said. “Both companies brought a great deal of experience and expertise to the projects, but more importantly, they both assembled teams that were experts in elementary school buildings.”

Los Alamos Public Schools undertook this project of approximately 50,000 square feet in response to student growth, which had overwhelmed the portable structures the district had been using, with the number of students increasing to almost 400. There had not been any renovations or plant improvements to the facility since it opened in 1968.

New Mexico State University’s Aggie Memorial Operations Center

At the University level, Jaynes delivered the 18,700 square feet Aggie Memorial Ops Center, supporting NMSU athletic programs with new training, support, and operations facilities. This project’s goal was to elevate student-athlete services and athletic program infrastructure. As part of comprehensive renovations to Aggie Memorial Stadium, which began in May 2024, the project addressed modernizing locker rooms, athlete training, and academic support spaces.

Jaynes Corporation fast-tracked the delivery for the 2025 season for Owner Regents of New Mexico State University.

Jaynes has a long-standing relationship with NMSU. A previous major project was the award-winning Domenici Hall & Institute for Public Policy. Another award-winning Jaynes project at NMSU was the renovation of Skeen Hall.

Los Alamos Public Schools’ Piñon Elementary

Jaynes delivered Piñon Elementary School, focusing on optimizing accessibility, safety, and modern infrastructure—ensuring students and families have the best possible daily experience on campus.

Jaynes delivered this 50,411 square foot facility using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method.

The school serves approximately 400 students and was a high-priority project for the Owner, as Piñon Elementary had multiple temporary additions and ad hoc renovations to handle student growth since its opening in 1964.

Jaynes’ architect partner on this project was Dekker.

Deming Public Schools’ My Little School

My Little School, home of the littlest Wildcats in the Deming Public School District, gives the district’s youngest learners a safe, inspiring environment to begin their educational journey and builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Owner Deming Public Schools hired Jaynes Corporation for additions and renovations to the existing My Little School facility. Work included the new construction of a multi-purpose building with a warming kitchen and administrative spaces.

Construction started in the Spring of 2024, and Jaynes delivered the 13,714,00 square feet of new construction in time for the new school year on August 4th, 2025. My Little School educates approximately 50 children.

My Little School is made possible by the State of New Mexico’s universal eligibility that guarantees free child care and Pre-K education, regardless of income. In 2023, New Mexico became the first state to offer free universal Pre-K education.
