City of Albuquerque Fire Station #12

The construction of the new City of Albuquerque Fire Station #12 represents a significant investment in public safety infrastructure. It aims to enhance emergency response capabilities in one of the city’s busiest areas.

The new Fire Station #12 is an 11,169-square-foot three-bay facility designed to replace the existing two-bay station built in 1960. It serves a region that accounts for over 25% of Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s (AFR) call volume, making it one of the busiest in the city.

Jaynes started construction in late 2024, with significant progress marked by the pouring of the station’s walls. The project includes installing missing sidewalk sections, enhancing pedestrian access, and improving safety around the station.

A notable addition to the new station is Albuquerque’s first “baby box”, a climate-controlled, secure device allowing parents to safely and anonymously surrender infants. This feature underscores the city’s commitment to providing compassionate resources for vulnerable populations.

Upon completion in late 2025, the new Fire Station #12 will significantly bolster AFR’s capacity to respond to emergencies in Southeast Albuquerque. The modern facilities and strategic location are expected to improve response times and service efficiency, benefiting the community’s safety and well-being.

Jaynes Corporation has extensive experience constructing first responder structures across the Southwest, having completed over $200 million of fire stations and first responder facilities. See other municipal projects Jaynes has undertaken here.
