Fort Sumner Schools
The facility was entirely reconstructed, providing new, more modern teaching spaces and support functions. The initial scope included a performing arts wing featuring a performance hall, music classrooms and practice rooms. during pre-construction, it became evident that we could develop the elementary school, middle school, elementary school main gymnasium, and cafeteria commons building, adding 43,200 square feet to the overall scope. Even with the additional scope, the project achieved substantial completion by the time specified in the contract.
The additional scope was due to the proactive efforts of the pre-construction team who discovered opportunity for the educators and studentsĀ to get everything they wanted. With the phased construction approach, we were able to best manage the safety concerns associated with an active campus and minimize disruption.
