Santa Fe High School (SFHS) Administration Building – Phase 1

Santa Fe High School sits on a sprawling 100-acre campus, and one goal of the multi-phase project is to bring facilities closer to the central courtyard to improve security and convenience while also bringing its facilities up to date.

We oversaw the demolition of the old Student Services building and new construction of a 12,069 square foot administration building. The building was designed with security enhancements like metal wall panels, Rhinoware door barricade devices, and high-tech visitor identification system. It was also fitted with 21st century upgrades for greater comfort and a more inviting work environment for the school’s administrative team.

Construction was underway when the COVID-19 lockdown requirements were first put in place, posing significant challenges for our team. But by utilizing our in-house VDC to coordinate each trade during pre-con, we were able to build a construction schedule that maximized efficiency while limiting the number of crew on-site. The COVID-related school shut down during the construction period also provided an opportunity for additional construction, including renovations to the campus plaza to provide a more convenient area for students to gather and socialize.
