Albuquerque Rail Trail

Jaynes Corporation is the General Contractor for key construction phases of the Albuquerque Rail Trail project. This trail is a multi-phase initiative to construct a 7-mile pedestrian and bike loop connecting Downtown Albuquerque with local attractions, including Old Town, the Rail Yards, the Sawmill District, and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

Jaynes was contracted to build the initial crossing ramps at Central Avenue and First Street, providing a safe and accessible crossing over active railway tracks, with completion targeted for the end of 2025. Jaynes is also responsible for the second phase, the Sawmill segment from Mountain Road to Bellamah Avenue, including streetscape improvements such as new sidewalks, trees, and traffic flow enhancements.

This transformative project aims to stimulate economic development, improve community connectivity, and enhance recreational opportunities in Albuquerque. The trail’s construction phases are ongoing with a projected overall completion around 2027.
